The boundary layer around the inner circle indicates possible water or coolant in the engine. In this case, the test will show peaks around the edges. Whenever water content is high, the results become visible within a few minutes. The test distinguishes between 2 types of water: condensation water, and cooling water (with anti-freeze). Both will form peaks around the inner circle. Too much cooling water with anti-freeze will show a yellow corona (haze or glow) after 30 minutes. Condensation water does not show a yellow corona.
